She emailed me and said that she was getting married and we set up a date to meet at Stomping Grounds in Ames, Iowa as there is no where better to talk about weddings, love, and photography than over a great cup of coffee! However, when they told us they were getting married at Prairie Moon Winery, how they met and that we had unknowingly knew people in common from our past, however their love for each other won our hearts completely. As we pulled up to the gorgeous venue overlooking the 13 acres of vines where the reception would take place, with the rows of white chairs, aisle lined with flowers, homemade wooden signs and lemonade welcoming friends and family to experience Ben & Rachel’s love we knew how much work they had put into this day. Friends and family were running around prepping last minute details and as I talked to Rachel and Ben they told me about all the hard work they put in all their DIY projects and the amazing fudge they prepped for guests to enjoy. I loved seeing the to-do lists and watching friends & family members pitch in throughout the day. Their labor of love truly paid off because Ben & Rachel’s day couldn’t have been more beautiful.
The weather was gorgeous through out the ceremony (it was moved up a tad to miss the incoming rain) The rain came and went and really cooled everything down for the reception and made for some gorgeous light during their portraits. I don’t know what we loved more, the awesome setting, the amazing people or the fact they played Michael Bublé for their first dance! I mean how can you not love his music!
Ben & Rachel’s wedding couldn’t have been more amazing and we loved being a part of such an amazing celebration!!! I’m already late posting this wedding so I’ll let you get to the pictures but I just have to thank Ben and Rachel again for allowing us to be apart of your day. There are so many photographers out there and yet you chose us to be a part of your day and we are truly honored and feel that we have gained life long friends. Congratulation you two!!! Enjoy your new life as husband and wife!!!
